Love their sweet and sour pork and black bean noodles! Food came out fast and I really love the staff their. He was so funny and passionate. 100/10!!!

One of my go-to places in ktown during the winter time for whenever i am craving korean seafood jjamppong! Been here a plethora of times and always such a great place to eat and chill with friends and family! They have combinations of the seafood jjamppong and black bean noodles. They also offer a bunch of Korean appetizers like dumplings, pahjeons, and more. They have various levels of spiciness that you can add onto your noodles and they even have a special challenge for the most extreme level and if you complete it, you get a picture on the wall. Service is always good and our waiter is always a guy who likes to do magic tricks and fold origami whenever we visit! He does that with every table, so you get a little bit of a show as well with your meal! Chill place don't hesitate to go. Parking is valet, which is around $3 or you can get lucky with street parking.

Came here on a Friday night close to 8pm and service was super quick and friendly! We ordered the vegan black bean noodles and the beef broccoli. Both dishes were fantastic! There is valet parking in the plaza for $3.

saw this place on YouTube few times and i was craving for some korean black bean noodles. Took my mom here for easy lunch. This is ain't no fancy place, just a small hole in the wall korean Chinese cuisine place. I did the spicy black bean noodle challenge with is a level 10 ghost peppers.. At first, when yoj start eating, you can feel your lips burning; it's after you finish the noodles that's when you start feeling the heat! the food was delicious! I had runny nose for about 5mins then it was gone. After you finish the challenge you have to bring your finished bowl at the counter, and they will take a photo of you and you can post it on the wall where others have successfully finished the challenge. Beat part; if you finish it, the meal is free! Would I do it again? yes!

Zzamong -- interesting name but don't let the preceding "zz" doze you off. I was knocked out off my feet, in a good way, on the great experience. Although OC has enough Korean noodle houses. We drove across town after hearing about this mom-pop shop. The restaurant is small, quaint with outdated decor. It's also located in small (kinda rundown area) with limited parking whereas a non-descriptive "vendor" requests money to park. I've watched some cars were charged and two cars just pulled into the lot. Upon entering, we were quickly greeted by a very funny and witty server/owner! He's energetic and has a few tricks up his sleeve that's he not shy in showing to the patrons. We say a wall full of happy (but maybe hard headed folks) whom claimed victory eating/finishing a bowl of extra fire spice! I'm a wimp so stayed at level-3 spice which burned my tongue!!!! We ordered the classic black noodles bowls - vegan and one with light spicy (level 0.5, yes, it's 0.5 for the novices). I love my generous spicy seafood noodles! Unbelievably, good with strong base and good amount of squid, shrimps, clams and mussels!!! I was beyond stuffed but managed to eat a couple fried dumplings (courteous of Yelp checkin offer)!!!

I love Zzamong because its not good for Korean-Chinese food in America standards, its good for Korean-Chinese food in Korea standards. Jajangmyeon is a notoriously a takeout meal or small mom/pop shops, so often we see images of Jajangmyeon in generously large quantities. When you get that delivered here it's such a satisfying sight. Its difficult to describe how black bean noodles taste to an average American palette, even to the native LA palette its not like the beans we are used to, its earthy, its umami, its salty, its savory, it coats the noodles, its decadently dark and pairs beautifully with yellow alkaline noodles. In between your bites, you get a little bit of kimchi, pickled yellow radish, and fresh onion, its so good, its a common way to use banchan but you really appreciate the core tenants of how good Korean cuisine and eating traditions are. Oh, did i forget to mention...the owner knows magic? So much personality in one place, he's radiating good vibes. I like to believe some of that magic goes into the dishes as well. We came at a time when they were not busy so we got a little show. Hehe!

Zzamong is my favorite place to get jjamppong and other Korean-Chinese dishes in Ktown. It's a classic, no-frills place that reminds me of the places I went to growing up. Plus, it's still relatively affordable--I had a bowl of seafood jjamppong and with tax + tip, it all came down to a little under $20. I'm a big fan of the seafood jjamppong here because of the generous portion of seafood & noodles and flavorful, spicy broth. You can make it as spicy as you want too--including their spice challenge if you order level 10. Even as someone who loves spicy food everywhere I go, I usually stick to ~4-5/10, but all the power to you if you go 5+! The service here is very kind too, and parking is pretty easy. Definitely check out Zzamong!

Food: 5/5 so good. Wow. Tang su yuk was the best tang su yuk I've ever had. My husband kept saying it beats chef paik's lol Service 5/5: if the highest was 6 I would give 6. The server showed us so many magic tricks it was so funny and fun. Ambiance is 3/5: just casual diner. I highly recommend this place.
